Adaptive Family from GH

How I created those branches from Grasshopper to Revit

Hi hi!

Isma here…

Yesterday we got over a hundred new members joining us πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

Welcome Comp Designers! βœ‹ πŸ€–

….

Now, in relation with my latest post about the nightmare with the branches.

I have made a quick video showing the process of making those branches.

As Adaptive Families generated from Grasshopper.

πŸ’‘ How it works:

The trick here is first to create a Revit Adaptive Family.

That Family must have:

  1. The parameters you want to control with Grasshopper.

  1. Adaptive Points to create the shape.

In this case:

Each Adaptive Family (branch/pipe) has 13 points.

Each Adaptive Family has a radius parameter to define its thickness.

πŸ’ Tip:

There are so many things you can do with Adaptive Families.

The most important part is…

think first!

And reach out to people who are very good at Revit. πŸ˜†

I did that to create this specific Family.

….

Have a great end of the week!

Isma
