There are multiple ways of doing Generative Design with Grasshopper.

Today I am going to show you one that I quite like:

Through a GH plugin called Colibri. (You can install it with the Package Manager).

💡 What It Does:

Colibri is a plugin that lets you run a Grasshopper script multiple times.

By defining the logic properly.

You can create scripts that generate as many different options as you want.

📦️ This example:

This example is about a script that generates options for stacked boxes.

The parameters are:

1. Number of boxes

2. Heights for the individual boxes

3. Rotation for each box

4. Size of the boxes

This is a very simple example.

Modifying the logic you can create generative design scripts for 3d massing, 2d plans, facades, landscape elements…. or whatever you can think of.
